Creeps me out.

8 hours of hard-core ActionScript 3 at Suntec Convention Hall.
Speaker was Colin Moock, author of several books, latest one being Essential Actionscript 3.
Well, what I can say is that he’s quite what I imagined him to be - brainy geek with skills that no one can doubt, but not very good in breaking things down and explaining them. And also occasionally speaking softer and softer until it sounded like he was talking to himself while typing out the codes. I think it’s quite hard for him to dumb things down for the general audience cos he’s too smart already.
It’s a big jump from AS2 to AS3, and I’ll do so at my own comfortable pace! Like during school days when I munched on Oreo cookies while coding throughout the night. Agonising but shiok.
Saw quite a few well-known people in the industry too - Edwin kept pointing out the people that he worked with, which guy was the boss of which company etc. It’s actually very common cos the industry is that small. It also means that bad reputation gets spread around pretty quickly too… haha…so we have to behave. Ahem.
However I did see a few people that I didn’t want to see. The sight of them really turned me off as I recalled my difficult days in school. But that’s all in the past and I think I shouldn’t be so bitter with a few pebbles by the road. Now I’m a happy free bird who walks with her head up.
And the most important thing? No one can discourage me from learning more! :)
Soju sessions resume everytime Christina finishes her exams. Venue was at the bookworm’s house! With two guests, me and Cheryl.
I love how agenda-less we are, sprawled on Chris’ (nicknamed Mini) big pink bed and generally making ourselves laugh. Hahaha some highlights of the event:
- Wanni’s new nickname: Gadget Girl (cos of Nice James)
- Christina’s new nickname: Mini
- Cheryl’s new nickname: 快手快脚 (an obviously satirical reference)
- Cheryl bringing borrowed clothes to return to us, but brought Amanda’s shorts as well
- Dark, sporty girls with makeup
- 照顾弟弟!!!! HAHAHA
- Using these phrases as a response to everything: “Well if that makes you happy!” “If that’s what you want! OK??”
Anyway I went home and started to assemble my chest-of-drawers that I bought from IKEA.
This monster was so heavy (no references to anyone in Mongsters Inc. !!) that I had to call my brother downstairs to help carry the flat-packed box up. And I didn’t do any carrying …OPS.
My arm was so sore from extreme Wii Sports on Friday bwahaha — erm yeah and Mini Armstrong carried it with my brother. THANK YOU CHRISTINA!
I assembled the whole thing by myself! :D
Some statistics…
Hours I took: 2
Times I hammered my thumb by accident: 3
Screws: 40
Nails: 30
Planks of wood: 23
Blisters obtained: 1
Hmm. I feel so MAN! But Nice James said I can’t say that I’m a man unless I go through army.
……
Ok fine! If that makes him happy. Is he happy? xD
Jackie pwns me to infinity!

It was Jamie’s farewell dinner (two weeks late) the other day. We had a simple dinner and lots of beer (LOTS!) at Vivocity’s Marché!
^Jamie is in the middle!
As we were walking back to the carpark, we walked past the water pool area… and Darryl lifted me up, fireman-rescue style, and RAN towards the water to dump me into it. Nice! However he let me go cos I pleaded with him (”I have a bag, let me gooooo”)… and thus the rest of the guys dragged him into the pool instead. Dahahah
An exhausted and wet (and beer-filled) man.

And!! Over the weekend I went to Eugene’s house to teach him how to bake!! Double chocolate chip cookies! It went so smoothly that we did everything in a matter of 2 hours. :O
The cookies came out great! Chocolatey and crunchy and crumbly … YUM! I took photos but it was before baking, so I only have photos of shit-like lumps sitting in a tray, carefully spaced apart. I don’t think anyone would want to see them.

We went to the Mosaic festival at the Esplanade last week, to watch Crying Nut’s performance. We saw them for the first time back in Korea last year when they had a live house performance!
Lalala. 2008!

^Looking like a si gin na standing next to Christina, who was very confused about Singapore’s climate (cap + scarf?!)
I really enjoyed their performances, though I wish they sang 말다리자 and 다죽자 in Korean instead of the dodgy English-translated version……
After their first performance we went to ask them for autographs. I HAVE THEIR 5TH ALBUM!!! So does Cheryl but she forgot to bring it >_<
They were quite shocked to see that I have their album so I had to explain that I bought it online :D
^All of us with the band members. Christina looks so happy in the photo because of me doing something to her. To her fate James: I help you take revenge liao! Haha ya right.
Yun-shik (in red, vocals) is so cute, he kept doing those funny funny poses and expressions for every photo. Keke he’s not bad looking! But I prefer him with eyeliner!!!
^I decided to be naughty and asked for a photo with them alone. Then I positioned Kyung-rok beside me. HAHAHA Sang-myon copied my pose -_-”
During the performance:
Christina: I like the drummer, he very cute!
Me: Then you can find the guitarist also la, they both look the same.
Hahaha yah Sang-myon and Sang-hyok are twins, and today is State the Obvious Day!

^Sang-myon’s autograph. Yay he say I 예뻐!!! Chey, they think they can use this word to conquer Singapore meh. Hahaha

^Kyung-rok’s autograph! Haha he still go and star star here and star star there! :D His nickname is Captain Rock BUT it looks like Captain Pork in the autograph. Ha-ha-ha…
All in all a very high night! Love their dynamic performances!!!
This is my iPod nano from US Ebay!!! I used a Singapore shipping service called vPost that assigns you a shipping address in US when you order stuff from there, so that you can save on costly international shipping charges. vPost then charges you a flat rate plus an additional charge based on how big your parcel is, and ships it over to Singapore to your home address by hand!
I’m quite happy with the service… just that the shipping takes about one and a half weeks to reach Singapore T_T
Heehee so that’s my baby pod! It’s really quite slim beyond my expectations…I have an irrational fear of it breaking in half just like a Hershey’s bar. 8)
