I’m working on a RSS news aggregator coded in Flash.
Mini applications for your desktop if you’re lazy to visit blogs/websites to check for updates. It is especially taxing if you are an insane web surfer. It would be so convenient if you could view newly updated entries via a desktop application, and if the title is interesting enough, you just click it to go to the actual site.
So far I’ve managed to do up XML parsing for RSS 2.0 feeds, but not for RDF and Atom. Not that pro to do all these :(
An example of what it can do:

A widget to tell you which ten albums are in the top ten of the iTunes music store. Using the same technique it can also load the ten newest blog entries of any Ah Niao and Ah Kow provided they have RSS feeds.
It’s still in initial stages where everything looks plain and the stupid cat is just being a vase.
So I’m not very confident to present it to the lecturers. Cos they’ll criticise you with whatever loopholes they can find, and it’s fucking annoying.
They don’t even start off with “Good effort, but…”. HA!
