Xiao Guilin revisited

Weikit suddenly suggested we go to Xiao Guilin after my driving lesson… and I felt that I was in need of a visit to a quiet sanctuary for awhile too. Away from modern technology and people in hurry everywhere…
Obviously it hasn’t changed much, except for a green trash bin erected beside a large rock. Ok lah at least it’s green.
We flung pebbles into the lake, tried doing the skidding stone thing and lazed around on the rocks. I even had a nap. Yes it was that tranquil… Nature’s own form of therapy where you don’t have to look at slideshows of picturesque scenery.
Anyway, in a shocking turn of events, I suggested we climb up a stone stairway which led to half the height of Bukit Gombak. There was even a sign that pointed to ‘Chu Lin Road’, 700m up the hill.
We got conned of 700m! There was NOTHING there! Only a narrow path of dead leaves which brought us to a dead end. I think we covered our 2.4km run after the adventure.
I love Xiao Guilin….. :)))))
